A Gift from the Sea

A wonderful time spent at a home away from home!

We loved staying at a Gift from the Sea! We had a lovely time hiking, looking for sea otters and exploring tide pools.

My friends and I just stayed here for the 2nd time, and have already booked it again for next year. It has become our happy go-to for our annual get-together. It's clean, bright, airy, quiet and serene. The front and rear garden areas are delightful - and lovely! There's a nature walk just across the road, plus the neighborhood is great to walk in. We absolutely love it!

But did this stop us from having an enjoyable time? NO WAY!

We experienced many ants in the kitchen. The more we tried to clean them up, the more came. Also, the master bathroom sink was clogged and slow to drain.

We've stayed in this lovely house before but two things have gone down hill. 1) Hot tub was so dirty it was unusable. 2) AC was not functioning.
The house was very clean and we would stay here again, assuming the broken AC and dirty hot tub were taken care of.

Our group of 5 women were looking for a get away and found this house on Vrbo. It truly was "A Gift from the Sea". Plenty of space for all of us. Lovely patios and even their neighbors were friendly. They had a brand new BBQ too. We didn't end up using the spa. To make it perfect, it would be nice if the living room furniture was replaced or at least bolstered up. A few of the beds could be replaced as well. But overall we would stay there again. Easy check in/out at the management company too.

The property though old was clean and comfortable. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not working. We arrived on Saturday so no one to call. This one of the reasons we selected this location. We did call left a message, returned on Monday. Sent the handyman out he was unable to fix the issue . We left on Tuesday.

Traveling with a 2 year old we sought a 1-level home near Shamel Park snd the beach! We loved A Gift from the Sea! The front and back fenced areas were perfect with the little one. The hot tub a nice plus! Lovely flowers attracted hummingbirds and lizards! Both delightful! The kitchen has everything you need with generous extras. Three bedrooms and two baths very comfortable. With Fiscalini trails and views across the street location provided added appeal. We rode our bikes to moonstone beach, but needed a lift back up because of the steep hill. No problem! The rental company was very responsive with questions.

This is a beautiful, large house near Cambria and Moonstone Beach. We loved the location - the entrance to Fiscalini Ranch is literally opposite the house and it’s also within walking distance to the beach. The house itself has a large living area, 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a functional kitchen and lovely outdoor space. The hot tub, off-street parking and laundry were also great additions. We will absolutely return in the future!

In five minutes handyman arrived and fixed it. The living room furniture looked well taken care of; however the chairs and the couch were very difficult to get out of.
Nonetheless, this is a perfectly located, and well cleaned property for a family or friends in their three bedroom home.

We had a wonderful time in Cambria. The house was SO clean and in the perfect location. The easy access to Fiscalini was thoroughly enjoyed! We will definitely stay at this rental again in the future!

I loved staying at A Gift by the Sea. We have been coming to this house for years now and we are never disappointed. The location is perfect. The house is perfect. Highly recommend.

Loved our stay in this home! So cute and beachy, loved the hot tub in the back too. Perfect for myself, husband, and two girls. We had so much fun! House was very clean and provided everything we needed. Would definitely rent again!

Awesome location - direct access to beautiful trails and bluff. Loved the spa. House was spacious For our family of 4. Some things didn’t work quite right (door knobs, light switches, toaster) and there was a Gross fish smell in the microwave, but other than that we loved it and had a great vacation.

This is a lovely little spot in a great location right next to the nature preserve. Hot tub was so nice to have in the chilly evenings and wood burning stove made the place very cozy.

The wifi needs an upgrade but property managers were very responsive and kind. We would love to come back. Cambria is a very special spot.

Where do I even begin? Our stay was just what we needed! The house had everything that we wanted. The hot tub and outdoor area were amazing and the location was perfect for walking to the beach and the Fiscalini reserve. Scenic Coast Properties worked with us to change our dates due to Covid-19 and we felt completely safe staying in a very clean well appointed home. Only con was one of the guest rooms had brown paper taped on the window for coverings and let too much light in as it was not completely covered well.

We try to visit Cambria two to three times per year for week each time. We have found renting a house is far more comfortable than staying in a hotel and comparable in cost.
An early March visit was cooler with a day of rain and the town was quieter but very relaxing.

The kitchen was well stocked with nice cookware, dishes and glasses. It is in a nice neighborhood atop Park Place with nice areas to walk and access to the large open space.

This is a lovely home! The location is close to the Fiscalini Reserve walking path, and the beach. The kitchen is well stocked. The hot tub is hot and sparkling clean. The beds are a little firm for my taste, but I still slept well. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are lots of games in the closet. The living room furniture is comfy. We would definitely stay here again!

VERY NICE HOME TO STAY & ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE COAST.

Stayed here for a weekend with a few friends and had a great time. The house is clean, well-stocked and comfortable. We really enjoyed the sunny front patio and back yard with hot tub and BBQ, all of which we used. Beds were good and bathrooms nice. It is up the hill only a few blocks from the beach, so it was nice to walk down and see the sunset. The park nearby has trails along the bluffs and great views--nice walking area. We also saw deer walking through the neighborhood. Cambria is lovely this time of year & was decorated with cute zombies/scarecrows everywhere for Halloween. We had a great time and are thinking of making an October trip to Cambria a tradition for our group. I'd definitely stay at this house again. Also, the property management company was very responsive and helpful for questions/issues that came up so that made everything go smoothly during our stay.

Clean, cozy, and one level - no stairs for husband who walks with a cane. Close to everything. Hot tub was a nice plus. This is the second time we've stayed here and will no doubt return.

This is a very pleasant home. We like this home because of the layout of the living room and we can hangout there comfortably. The kitchen is usable and fairly well equipped. The bedrooms have comfortable beds.

We were in Cambria for our son's wedding. While we were there, we also enjoyed the restaurants and shops in Cambria, and loved touring the area along the coast. This house was so conveniently located, and so comfortable! Enjoyed taking walks on the nearby preserve, too, and relaxing in the hot tub!

We love this house as it is a beautiful example of mid century mod architecture. Great hiking trails across the street, 3 minutes from both the beach &town. We all slept like babies! Will be back very soon!

A lovely house with pretty "beachy" decor, privacy, and a good location.
Enjoyed it's cosiness and hot tub very much. The only area needing attention and improvement was the rug in the living room, which was old and stained and needs to be replaced. Also, the wifi codes listed were wrong -- and we had to get help from a "computer-wise" friend to get online!

We really enjoyed being able to walk across the street to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve for amazing hikes and views. The beach and downtown Cambria were just a five-minute drive away.

I was a looking for a rental that did not have stairs. A Gift from the Sea worked out great. It is roomy and well stocked. The house was clean and comfortable, with the exception of the master bed, unless you happen to like a really soft mattress.
Fiscalini Ranch accessible directly across the street. The property is a few minutes drive from town and Moonstone Beach.

House was very clean and comfortable. Fantastic location for hiking with trail across the street. The hot tub was a nice bonus. We will definitely come back.

We love Cambria. This is a very nice house. We have rented it a number of times. It is clean, neat, and everything works. We will be back again.

Nice overall. Although the description mentions it is walkable to the beach, it is on the top of a very steep hill. We had to drive down it to start our walks.
The house was nicely decorated but dishes,towels,and comforters needed to be washed. Everything was pretty basic as far as apliances and fixtures although the washer/dryer were good. It also had directv and WiFi which was nice. The hot tub area was probably the nicest part of the property.
Overall if I lived in this house it could be really nice if the basic kitchen and basic bathrooms and sainted floors were remodeled. It has a lot of potential.
I have stayed in two other Cabria rentals during the summer, id probably chose a different one next time.

The house was very cozy and clean. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was usable.

The home was lovely and clean, and we loved the location. Unfortunately there was a very strong damp/moldy smell throughout. After opening all the windows, turning on the heat, and baking, the smell improved. However, after coming back from being out all day, it was stronger than ever. My clothes still smell, 2 days after coming home.

Home was nice, clean, spacious, nicely decorated on the inside, and had plenty of supplies (towels, cleaning supplies etc.. We used the Jacuzzi each day. Everything was in working order.

We loved the privacy offered by this home. The local park with beach access is very close. The home was clean and tidy. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. There was a bit of a problem with one bathroom, in that the tub drain wasn't working. We were able to use a rag stopper though and it worked fine. The toilet in that same bathroom is a wee bit wiggly, but there were no leaks. The front door lock gave us a bit of trouble. But, the management folks had it fixed right away. All in all...we had a wonderful stay at this home. We are so grateful that gracious owners share their lovely homes with us. Thank you! We will surely visit again.

We loved the house and we loved Cambria! We saw dozens of whales, enjoyed Moonstone beach and the Elephant seals. We drove the California coast from the big red woods to LA and this was our favorite.

The house was so much nicer than the photos. It was recently updated and very comfortable. Handy household items in drawers and cabinets really helped us out! A few things still could be updated to make it perfect; re-caulk bathtub and new shower head, some doorknobs were loose-the bathroom one came off but we put back on, spray for ants outside (kitchen had some soldiers), old fridge and microwave. Overall, our stay at the house was just what we needed. Thank you!
