Panoramic Views

I guess this is a good cheap stay, but the owners obviously use this for income only. The place is in the style of old yard sale - style. All the kitchen and dining equipment is dumpster ready. Camping quality, at best!

If the office staff would have bothered to smile when I picked up the key, if would have felt warmer. I'm sorry to have interrupted their cell phone time with my business. I know it's inconvenient to be disturbed by tourists.

My sister and I have enjoyed staying at this property many times and have always loved the view. The house is dated but has been very cozy and comfortable. This time we were quite aware however, of a good amount of needed maintenance. The furniture and floors were not very clean, the bedding is in need of replacement and the blinds are broken and we were not able to close them.We decided that we will not stay here again until some needed repairs are done and we have booked another property for our next visit. The view is beautiful but the house is not up to rental standards.

The house is in a beautiful location with an amazing view. Nice quiet neighborhood. I loved the fireplace and the front room with all the open windows. The check-in seems a little archaic, I like the lock box method better, especially when getting in late. I may be picky but some of the cookware and the coffee pot need upgrading. Some of the pans were so old they almost seemed unsafe to use. We washed everything before we ate off of them dishes looked dirty. Could use a newer coffee maker and maybe some coffee for the morning until guests can get to the grocery store the next day. There was an ant problem. After 10 minutes of cooking ants appeared all over the kitchen sink. Overall it was a beautiful weekend and these suggestions did not ruin our time in Cambria. Just some things you should know.

Every room had an ocean view, plus we saw lots of deer, and the location was close to a park and beach access. The down side was that the driveway was hard to back out of on the hill, Venetian blinds need to be updated as well as mattresses, plus the carpet needed to be cleaned. Check in and out was convenient and easy.

We stayed six nights and had a wonderful time. The view from the main living area is gorgeous. The place is well appointed and as far as we're concerned was clean enough although some other reviewers have commented otherwise. The only point to be aware of is it the price of a view is that it is located on a steep hill. Pulling into the driveway and garage is not for the faint of heart.

Great house in a great location, fantastic ocean view and very central to visiting cambria town / hurst castle and great beaches and walks. House very clean and everything we needed was available there.

The location of the house was fabulous. However, most of the view was blocked by a tree that could easily be trimmed and the windows were very dirty. I specifically chose a place with a view so that part was extremely disappointing. The house overall was in dire need of new carpeting and general updating. Other than that it had everything we needed.

Nice home. Loved all the large counter space in both bathrooms. No extra toilet paper was provided and we ran out of TP on our second day. Kitchen pans were burned so badly, we couldn't use them. No TV's in any of the bedrooms and the living room TV didn't work very well.

We loved the location of this house, great views, great space for our family. The house needs some updating - the carpets for sure. Downstairs smells musty and old. But we enjoyed our time and loved the views.

We love the floor plan of this house, but it is in need of some things to be fixed. We have rented this home 3 times and sent a repair list each time and it never gets repaired. We rent it because it is a floor plan good for my 96 year old mother. It is very clean, just no repairs done that I have ask for!

Loved this vacation house! There was plenty of room for our family of 6! View of ocean was perfect! Yes the street is on a steep hill but nothing your car can’t handle and it’s even walkable! Centrally located to the park, beach and town!

Can't beat the views from this place, that's for sure. Every window you look out you see the ocean. Spacious and comfortable inside. Furniture is from the 80s...maybe and the carpeting is straight up disgusting in spots. I seriously don't understand why we were not allowed to bring our small dog with us to this home. He's completely house trained and frankly, there wasn't a thing in there that he could have damaged because, like I said, the furniture is very old and the carpeting is stained and dirty. But I don't want that to detract from the overall stay because frankly, we don't look for "fancy" places. We want to feel comfortable and overall, we were at this place. It was just frustrating to see it after being told it wasn't dog friendly.

This was a nice home with a spectacular view of the ocean. My family and enjoyed our stay. The home is close to Fiscalini trail, beach, park, Moonstone and Cambria Village.

Nice house w/great views convenient location close to the beach and downtown but on a very steep hill making it a little dicey getting out of the driveway.The step from the driveway to the deck needs to be repaired (safety 'd be nice to have a TV in each of the bedrooms.The kitchen needs a cookie tray and a large casserole dish. I'd stay there again.

Really enjoyed our stay here as a family of 6. While the place is dated, it is very comfortable. (If your an HGTV watcher, you will constantly be thinking about how to remodel.) At its core, it's a 1980's house with great views in a fantastic area. We enjoyed going to Moonstone Beach and walking the boardwalk. I would suggest Hearst Winery which is only 10 miles up 1 as a great spot to take in the view and enjoy some wine tasting. Also don't miss Madelines in downtown Cambria for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed walking around the shops in general as well. We also enjoyed Morro Bay as a nice drive south on 1.

This house does have a great view, but it has its downsides. The house is on a very steep hill, too steep to walk and the driveway is much steeper than the photos indicate. Upstairs is comfortable, but the downstairs bedrooms are cold and the bed was hard. It was an ok stay but other houses we have rented provided a better experience.

Very cozy, very clean. Furnishings and appliances are outdated and older, but functional for what we needed. Like staying at grandma's or aunt's house. :)
Drivivng into and out of the property is very exciting as the property is located on probably the steepest area of the neighborhood. More towels and linens than you could ever dream of!

Had a good experience with this rental. House has everything you need for your stay. Great location, walking distance to the beach. We could have used a bigger barbecue grill, but I'm just being too picky. No issues with the Property Management company, in fact, I made some last minute changes to my original reservation and they were very accommodating.

It was a wild weather weekend with lots of wind and some rain, but the views from the home were amazing. The house had a comfortable feel and we were able to relax easily! It was spacious and clean with plenty of space for us. The home is a bit dated with regards to furniture and kitchen appliances but if you want a simple getaway it was perfect! About 5 minutes walking to the water and a 5 min drive to town for restaurants. We definitely would consider a return trip.

The house is definitely old but very clean and robust. The panoramic view from the three walls in the living room is breathtaking. The Master bedroom also has an ocean view. The place is filled with everything you need to have a comfortable stay there except maybe a very old microwave and a stove teapot. The garage entrance is a little bit challenging also.
Indeed we enjoyed our stay in this house. I fall in love with Cambria, the people are extremely nice. I run around the town every day and it's one of the best trails I ever saw: you can run/walk/hike in the forest and then go uphill to the ocean and come back to the house along the ocean. It is great!

Many of the reviews that were critical were correct. While the floor plan is spacious this is a house that has been neglected. Peeling wallpaper in the bathrooms, worn out bath & kitchen towels, walls that need painting, etc. The appliances & supplies are low-end. The dishwasher didn’t get the dishes clean & the dishwashing liquid provided didn’t cut grease so we bought our own & did dishes by hand. We love Cambria & will be looking for a different house when we return.

Great house that has clearly been cared for. Lighting wasn’t the best. Well equipped, except for knives. The few they had were so dull as to be unusable. Still, I would not hesitate to rent the house again. I would just bring my own knives!

The view was great. The fixtures, pillows, beds, etc. are vintage. The living room was laid out nicely. The house is quiet. The driveway is really scary to back out of. It’s a nice place to stay if you want the view and don’t mind an older house.

Beautiful views of the coast. Close to the beach, but need to drive. It is a steep hill. The property could use some maintenance, but the view and sound of the ocean make staying here worth it.

Beautiful views from living room and deck. Large and comfortable. However needs maintenance: total paint job in and out, deck needs repair and paint. Needs a deep clean: kitchen cupboards, oven (yuck!), carpets, all door fronts, etc. Furniture is dated. Driveway is very steep which doesn’t show on pictures.

My Vacation rental Experience was very relaxing, the rooms were well keep and comfortable. The large living area had plenty of seating for us all some of the chairs were to low for us old people, the television could have been a little bigger but it worked, we saw lots of football games. Getting in and out of the property (with the vehicles) was a little challenging but we're not used to hill living. I did wish we had access to gas barbecue. I would rent the house again just for the views.

Home was clean and perfect for our family vacation. Close enough to town, Fiscalini Ranch, Shamel Park and Moonstone. Rental office staff was very courteous and accommodating.

Great time!!

This location has a lovely view toward Moonstone Beach and has direct ocean view from the little patio. We enjoyed sitting outside for meals and to watch every sunset! The local deer visits to the yard were a special treat.

It is a wonderful house,in a great location,and with magical panoramic views.The management team at Coastal Escapes is wonderful.Taking care of anything needed.We already booked for next year.

Sisters trip up the Central Coast. Property is spacious and ocean view from the living room is lovely. Days and early evenings were spent exploring so we didn't cook while there but home appeared to have all need supplies. Beds (all queens) were very comfortable and we opened the bedroom windows at night to hear the ocean. Woke up to deers outside master window one morning. Nice to be able to park in garage. Ocean within walking distance but property on a very steep hill so we drove. Cute park with access to the beach about a mile away. Very small but friendly town and enough food and coffee shop options to satisfy all. We would recommend this property.

We loved this house so much. Location was amazing, views were spectacular. The furniture is very outdated but comfy. We are definitely staying there again. Linns restaurant is definitely a must for any meal. Lots to see and you must take a walk down the hill for pics.

The view from the house is truly amazing, you can see Piedras Blancas light house, Hearst Castle and the ocean. The furnishings in the house are on the tired side and the street is quite steep, as is the drive way, but the view makes up for the short comings.

Great for two couples to have sleeping privacy on each floor and amazing views of the ocean. We enjoyed being close to the Bluff Trail and Moonstone Beach and other places to walk and enjoy the sunsets! The house was very comfortable and Cambria is a very fun place to shop and eat!

The property was nice with clearview's off the ocean there were four of us and there was more than a broom to sit comfortably and talk. The most important thing was the master bedroom was on the top level with two bedrooms downstairs which were completely private. Ideal property for two couples with no sharing off the sleeping space.

Except for the surprise at all of the added fees and taxes above the rental per night, we were pleased.

The home is lovely and the view is spectacular! The street is very steep as is the driveway, but certainly manageable. Would love to stay again.

Decor is that from the 1980s, but comfortable.

The views from the living room were stunning. Could easily see Hearst Castle. Also saw several whale migrating south.
