The house was in a great location and very quite clean and comfortable.
It does lack space to put your clothes.
And the tv was very limited. No satellite.
It was perfect for 2 people and our pet.

Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Terrific location within walking distance of trails and near Main Street and the coast. Small and comfortable with views of the ocean, and relatively private. We liked the folk art throughout the house. We'd like to stay here again, perhaps longer next time.

We stayed in this property for our son’s college graduation and found it the perfect size for 3 people. It will sleep four but there isn’t much storage room for luggage. As others mentioned, the driveway was steep but navigable. TV is outdated with no streaming options but there were plenty of CD’s and a small selection of DVDs. We will definitely stay here again!

The rental home provided a good place to relax Good views and deck was great to enjoy the view. Bad things were the very steep driveway which was difficult to both walk and drive down. There was too much of the owner’s stuff left leaving little room for cases etc. Also tv and disc player did not work for us. But a pleasant stay.

We found the rental to be very accommodating; great location, fully equipped, nice amenities.

Location, location, the property was in a great place. I would highly recommend that the owner remove the majority of their personal items.
The beds were a 7 on a one to ten scale. TV location and size was marginal. Still enjoyed the property!

My husband and I stayed at Ampersand 1 week with our 2 small dogs. It was almost perfect for us. Close to the beach, nice view and privacy. No direct neighbors so it felt very private (which was great because there are a lot of windows & skylights). Nicely equipped, comfy beds and bed linens, tons of books and CD's, interesting artwork & decor (I'm gonna call it higher end hippy). The only negatives for me; 1) no yard (hillside lot) but it does have a nice deck, 2) no tub, but the primary bedroom has a very spacious shower. We did attempt to BBQ, but the Weber wouldn't get hot enough - needs a good cleaning. I didn't realize this home is only 898 square feet - you would never know it. Very well laid out. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

This is a great location and a wonderful house. Well-furnished kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner for four. Would stay again.

The house is full of natural light with the skylights, and the windows. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house has everything you need, plus walking distance to the beach, or to town.

Our fifth stay at Ampersand, always for two weeks or more. The ideal getaway for two people with an exceptional layout and views of the ocean from all rooms and the deck. An easy walk into town or to the beach. The waves lull you to sleep at night and there is an amazing amount of natural light during the day. We have stayed at other houses in Cambria in the past but they are no comparison to Ampersand!

Four of us came to Cambria so that I could attend the Pacific Songwriting Camp at Camp Ocean Pines. My wife, her Mother, and her friend, all spent time here in the cottage and tourist sites in the area. We were very pleased with everything about this property, inside and out. The driveway is very steep, but in the end doable.

We had a wonderful time walking down to Moonstone Beach and gathering beautiful moonstones! Walks on Fiscalini ranch were great fun! The view of the ocean was lovely. My only complaint was the furniture in living room should be arranged so you could enjoy the views!
The neighbors were friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

Pictures do not do this wonderful home justice. Great location to walk to Moonstone or the Ranch trails. Comfy beds, very well stocked kitchen, fantastic views. Just a wonderful place to stay!

Was great, a unique little artistic 2 bedroom with a great view. Somewhat strenuous walk to the beach, or anywhere since it is on a big hill, but it so nice!

We loved our stay in Cambria! The house was perfect for our family and was clean, quiet and comfortable -- well-furnished and stocked with amenities. The artistic decor from around the world was inspiring! It was a great location walking distance to the beach, boardwalk and town. The oceanview deck is among the treetops so bird watching was amazing, as was star gazing on clear nights. It worked very well for our needs. Easy contactless check-in/check-out process.

We have stayed in many rental houses in Cambria over the years and Ampersand is our favorite. It is in a quiet neighborhood with a great deck and lovely views of the mountains and ocean. The kitchen is well-stocked, the house is very nicely furnished, beds are supremely comfortable - everything is just exactly right!

Spent a four-day weekend in Cambria and this was the perfect place to do that. Awesome view of Moonstone Beach. The house was very nice very well set up and the bed was comfortable. Really enjoyed sitting having our morning coffee watching the fog rise and having that awesome view. Would definitely stay here again.

It has a wonderful view of the ocean, and a deck that facilitates the viewing and enjoyment of the outdoors. This house has everything you need for a wonderful Central Coast weekend getaway or longer vacation. Great views of Moonstone beach and the ocean with closer-in views of the canyon pines. Deer, turkey, hawk, heron and many other bird species are viewable from the house and deck. Empty lots/ green space on each side of the property adds space, quiet and more to see! Nice amenities with everything you need to cook in.

Was our second time back and we enjoyed it just as much or even more!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at Ampersand. Great location, especially if you enjoy walking/hiking, which we do. Fiscalini Preserve, Moonstone Beach and the town all accessible by foot. Property is very well maintained, with loads of windows and skylights making it very bright. Wonderful (small) deck with great views. With 2 bedrooms (and baths!) it can accommodate 4 but it's not really set up for communal eating for more than 2 at the kitchen island and 2 at a small table. It was perfect for us though. Would absolutely return!

Ampersand was a great last minute get away. Close enough to Cambria downtown to visit and explore.

We had a very nice stay here. The cottage is attractive, comfortable, well furnished and well-supplied. There are beautiful views of the ocean and it is in a very quiet location. We enjoyed watching birds from the large windows in the living room. Extremely clean. Plenty of books. We had no issues or complaints. Enjoyed going to the Hearst Castle, Cambria, and several excellent small wineries out of town. We would love to stay here again next year when we come up to Cambria again.

Suggest they do not use queen mattresses on king size platforms. It makes it hard to get into the beds. Only complaint.

Ampersand was the perfect house for us. We've always loved Cambria and this property & location made us very happy; the comfortable decor, the artwork and open concept with so many skylights . . . just what we were looking for. We would definitely come back for another stay!

My husband & I spent 4 nights at this unique spot: a comfortable, sweet 2 bedroom, with distant view, & sound, of sea. Eclectic art and souvenirs were everywhere! The kitchen, which was part of the living-area, was easy to use with quality equipment. Had it not been raining most of the time, we would have enjoyed making use of the deck. The only drawback was that the shower in the master-bath didn't work at all well. However, that would not stop us from staying here again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at your “art gallery” home. You must have had a wonderful time collecting all those treasures! I loved the quiet location and being able to hear the ocean as well as the wind in the trees. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was the driveway....everything else was very comfortable.

This is a very nice place to spend a few days or weeks! It has a nice kitchen/family room area, two good bedrooms and baths. There are some water views and it's a great location. The master shower could use more pressure. The outside deck could use a clean up. We really enjoyed it!

Scenic Coast provided directions for check in and responded quickly to a couple of small issues. Although they were unable to fix one of them, they were very helpful.

This place is a true gem! Walk to beach, stargaze from inside, view the ocean waves from the porch. It was homey and had everything we could have wanted!

This is a wonderful home with a very nice view. The house has a cozy feel and is decorated with art from around the world. There is a decent bed in the master bedroom. The queen in the other bed creaks with the slightest motion.The table only seats two and two can sit at the kitchen island, however the stools provided are too tall to sit comfortably. A table for 4 would be a great addition considering it sleeps 4. Thee things are easy to fix. If it were my home I would do so and then our rating would be higher.

We have stayed at the Ampersand many times but since it changed hands there are a few things that should change to make it a good house for 4 adults. The seating arrangement is good only for 3 and there is no place for 4 to sit and eat... unless you are outside eating on your lap. Luckily we are most always 2 and always enjoy our stay in Cambria. New pans would be nice also!

The minute we walked into "Ampersand" it felt like home. We enjoyed incredible sunsets from the balcony sipping wine from Paso Robles while listening to Miles Davis cds. The wildlife is in abundance in the yard. There are wonderful books, cds & dvds to enjoy. The home is well appointed & exceptionally clean. We will return!

Clean for sure...great location for sure, good bed for sure, great views for sure....,good for two for sure, good for . Even tho is has 2/2 the sitting area in the living room and only sits 2 comfortably, and no place to eat for 4.
We want to bring friends to join us but discovered 2 for sure... 4 not so good.

This house was everything we were hoping for. It has a nice deck with a great view and the kitchen / living room is the prefect place to relax. A good spot for a romantic getaway. It has two bedrooms so it is also good for a small family or two couples.

Beautiful views, quiet, restful, charming. So nice to be lulled to sleep by the sound of ocean waves!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Location was perfect. Home is lovely. Dog across the street barks all the time. Icemaker in the fridge isn't connected.

The home was everything I expected (and more) from the pictures. If I had to be critical I would say the water pressure in the main bathroom shower was bad!! I know CA has drought issues but the Master Bathroom was so much better! Other than that this was a beautifully decorated house, which isn't common in rentals. The owners have obviously made a special place!! The view was spectacular and all of the amenities made this an awesome rental!! Thanks so much!!

The small size didn't bother us too much nevertheless offered an amazing view of the ocean. The bedrooms lacked empty drawers that we could put our clothes in and the bathroom doors were honestly very hard to use because of the sliding mechanism. The high seated chairs around the countertop in the kitchen also made getting off and on a bit annoying. We usually don't drink, but the generous owner left many drinks which made us feel welcomed. This was my sixth visit to Cambria and the view of this house was gorgeous. Overall the house was great for our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and loved ones. I will be looking forward to renting this house in the future again.

This was our third stay in this home. We love the location and have enjoyed our stays. The home was sold last year and is not as comfortable as is clean and well maintained but the decorations and lack of drawer space for clothing is a downside. We will book another home next year.

The house had a horrible smell of sour food, and moldy smell. There were spider webs on all the furniture, linens didn't appear to be clean on the bed. Had to wash them ourselves and then place on the bed. Towels were the same way. Kitchen was a mess, the fridge had old food and open items that smelled horrible. Over all after cleaning to unit ourselves with the cleaning supplies that we had to purchase. Since there was not much in the house it self. There were no beach towels. We had planned to grill on the BBQ but after seeing the house and the uncleanliness of it. We were afraid to look under the cover to grill.Overall the location had great views, that was probably the only reason why this house was not as horrible. You just need to get a better cleaning crew, as it seemed like all they did was come in and place flowers on the table in the kitchen.
